Increase in Social Security for 70 Million Americans

On Oct. 13th, the Social Security Administration announced benefits and Supplemental Security Income payments for approximately 70 million Americans will increase 5.9% in 2022.

If you are receiving SSI or SSDI benefits, you will likely be sent a letter in the mail sometime in early December. This letter will give you the most up-to-date benefit amount for your claim. Additionally, “most people who receive Social Security payments will be able to view their COLA notice online through their personal mySocial Security account. People may create or access their my Social Security account online at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.”
