Client M.M., who had been unable to perform substantially gainful activity for several years but had been denied on his initial application for benefits, attended an ALJ hearing in October 2015 at the Denver Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) without any representation. After his ALJ hearing, in October 2015, M.M. received an unfavorable ALJ decision again denying his claim for Social Security disability benefits.
M.M. then called Viner Disability Law in November 2015 for a free and confidential evaluation of his case. Viner Disability Law spoke with M.M., reviewed his unfavorable ALJ decision and Social Security exhibit file, identified clear errors made by the ALJ in his or her decision, and offered to represent M.M. in an appeal of the ALJ’s denial before the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Appeals Council. After filing appointment of representative forms and a fee agreement, in December 2015, Viner Disability Law filed an appeal within 60 days of M.M.’s unfavorable ALJ decision.
In April 2016, the Appeals Council reversed the ALJ’s unfavorable decision and ordered immediate payment of disability benefits as well as past-due benefits. M.M. currently resides in Aurora, Colorado.
