Client B.N. contacted Viner Disability Law in July 2016 after having been diagnosed and treated for breast cancer, which had required a double mastectomy. In addition, Client B.N. contracted MERSA as a result of the surgical procedure and was also in mental health treatment for mental health impairments, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as anxiety and depression secondary to her breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and surgery- and treatment-related residual effects. Because B.N.’s conditions precluded her ability to perform even marginal employment, much less a full-time occupation which would qualify as substantially gainful activity, B.N lost her housing, became homeless, and ultimately had to move out of the state of Colorado to live with a distant family member.
After transferring B.N.’s Social Security disability claim to her new state of residence, Viner Disability Law was able to expedite B.N.’s claim with Disability Determination Services (DDS), which resulted in a March 2017 fully favorable award notice, formalizing the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) grant of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits to B.N. effective the date of her application for benefits.
